Napoleon Hill author of Think and Grow Rich stated that “You can be anything you want to be, if only you believe with sufficient conviction and act in accordance with your faith; for whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.”

My Dad always told me that I can be whatever I wanted to be. He pretty much drilled that into my head. He never wrote a book and I doubt that he ever read Napoleon Hill. From my observation he did not put this philosophy in play in a positive productive way for himself. What he did do is believe in and love his children to the best of his ability. I have always believed that statement for the most part. (I heard it often enough that it is a recording in my head.) I can be whatever I want to be. I have found the problem with that is discovering what it is I want to be. I always knew I would be a mom and I am pretty darn good at it. Other than that I have simply flowed where my skill set and opportunities have taken me. I always thought of myself as “lucky”. As my path unfolded I seemed to always be in the right place at the right time with the right background. Now I see that I made that happen. I knew, thanks to my Dad, that I could be whatever I wanted to be. So as opportunities presented themselves, I “saw” the opportunities that I fit and they were always at the “right time”. Then a fork in the road presented itself. I stood there for a long time or what seemed like a long time. Picture me standing there like Tom Hanks at the end of the movie “Cast Away”. Which way to go? Have you ever been there? Have you ever questioned “Am I where I am supposed to be in my life?” When standing in front of that fork in the road, which path do we choose?

I challenge you today to start discovering “which way to go” if you don’t already know.

First, stop the excuses. You got yourself where you are today. The good, the bad, the pretty and the ugly. Congratulations! YOU did it! Celebrate your strengths as well as your opportunities for growth and learning.

Second, Understand where it is you are. What does your present life look like? All aspects of it.

Third, sort of links with the first… Recognize it was your past way of thinking, that led to your actions, that led to your current way of life.

Fourth, where do you want to go? Dream, Vision, let your imagination go!! “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.” Albert Einstein.

Fifth, Move! Take action, baby steps, small steps, medium steps and large steps. They are all step, just ensure they are moving you forward! Have fun and keep learning and going! Remember, you are where you want to be!

“Accept the challenges, so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory.” ~General George S. Patton
