“If you are not making a profit in your business,
then your business is nothing more than a hobby”

“Most companies organize around personalities rather than functions. That is, around people rather than accountabilities or responsibilities. The result is always chaos.”

Michael Gerber, Author of The E-Myth Revisited

Whether you are an individual business owner or have dozens of employees take out a pencil and draw your organization chart. That seems easy. A box here, a box there, reporting lines and dotted lines. A neat structured hierarchy where everybody has a place and a part to perform.

Now take a step back and look at your work. The fact is that it’s their name in most of the boxes, that essentially they are doing most if not all of the work!

Organizational Charts are the schematic for your business.
• Visual representation of your strategy.
• Chart of your business systems, stated in the results they produce.
• Graphically represents an organism that is a team focusing on a common objective.
• Clarifies the broad accountabilities and their interrelationships.

Once you have a working organizational chart the next step is to determine how it is to serve the future of your business. Gerber calls it “Double Vision” or how the present is to serve the future.
